Q: What are the characteristics of EMS?
A: Text formatting: text can be left or right justified, or centred. Three font sizes are available: large, normal, or small. Text can be highlighted in bold, italics, underlined, or crossed-out. Images: three image format types are supported: small (16 x 16 pixels), large (32 x 32) or variable, defined by the user. The maximum recommended size is 96 x 64 pixels. The mobile can receive more than one image. Images are in black and white; there is no grey scale. Sounds: there are 10 different predetermined sounds (percussion, applause, chords, and others). Users can define their sound (no bigger than 128 bytes). Ring tones can also be included using the iMelody standard. In iMelody, the tone is represented by a text code, as is already the case with Ericsson phones.
